Our first CI project, very complex area with rocky and hilly surronding. Despite the terrain difficulties as well as over 3 weeks of standby due to unpredictable weather conditions, we managed to install all 31 turbines earlier than originally scheduled.

At FairWind, we are not afraid of a challenge. Pilot projects and working with new turbine types has become one of our core competences. A major Siemens project in Stamaasen, Sweden, is definitely in this category. This one required us to erect 30 shell towers in extreme conditions.

In many ways, it was a test of whether we are capable of moving forward in this area. Fortunately, we had handled this challenge so well that we were selected to erect similar turbines in Sweden, employing almost 100 people. That experience put us ahead of most of our competitors. This leading position gave us an incredible amount of valuable knowledge, but also means that we are able to work in very extreme conditions. New turbine types always give a degree of uncertainty. This makes really high demands on us, but our employees have shown that they can rise to this challenge, which naturally makes us extremely proud.

35 wind turbines have been erected at Noupoort wind farm. Each turbine was 99,5 m tall, has 108 m diameter rotor and three 53 m blades which are made from fibreglass-reinforced epoxy. The biggest challenge was the weather. It was quite windy and very cold in the morning and boiling at midday. But the teamwork was really good and our local employees were learning from us quite fast.

The wind farm is expected to start supplying the electricity to the national grid by mid-2016. It would be the first wind farm to complete construction in the province as part of the third round of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.

FairWind is a leading partner for aftermarket replacement such as gearboxes, blades, generators, controller parts, hydraulic parts and other turbine components that are needed to keep your wind farm up and running. We can provide you with spare parts for both older as well as for the newest generations of wind turbines. FairWind aims to be your preferred partner when it comes to supplying parts for your wind farm.

Through our large network of suppliers and contacts in the wind industry, FairWind is able to deliver the parts you need for your wind turbine within short time. We do not necessarily have all spare parts in stock in Germany or Denmark, but we will invest the time needed to provide you with a quick and great service at all time. Repowering

FairWind is an international seller and buyer of used wind turbines. We act as a supplier of refurbished and second hand wind turbines, where we always can provide you with a competitive solution. The turbines we do offer can vary in age and size - sometimes the turbines are not older than 5 or 10 years - in order to provide you with a technology that is still reliable and fully compliant with all existing legislation. With refurbished turbines, FairWind can offer full warranty and the interesting part for you is that costs usually drop to half or less than when investing in new turbines. This advantage makes your cash flow turn positive much faster than by investing in new turbines.

FairWind can also provide you with a turnkey solution for a wind farm of your preferred size. We can support on wind measurement, desk and feasibility study, transportation, installation, service, spare parts and financing.
